Tooth shaped pendants

I don’t make steampunk stuff all the time, sometimes I need a break from it, that’s why I keep a stash of pretty semi precious stones in my desk, in case I get good ideas. These pendants are relatively simple, made from a rather small piece of wire, and the common thing about them is the bead shape and a decorative bead on the top. The black agate one is double sided. All available in …

More pendants with dichroic glass

I’m still experimenting with the right shape for my pendants, also looking for beads that go with the dichroic glass cabs, which is not easy, because they usually change colours depending on from which angle you look at them. Metallic coated fire polished glass seems to work best. The pendants are available in my shop: green, purple, blue and brown (the green one is also based on a gold plated watch piece – nicer colour!)

New teardrop pendants

Well, they’re fairly irregular for teardrops and the third one is actually tooth shaped. Something I made in the meantime when I was bored with the usual stuff. I wish I had more side drilled agate in cooler shades (temperature-wise cooler, not awesomeness-wise cooler), but the batch I’ve got recently is mostly brownish red, sometimes orange or yellow, so I’m pretty much restricted to matching it with carnelian and other similar stones. It’s fun to …

Handmade glass pendants

The next step from buying handmade lampwork beads in bulk, is buying artistic glass beads and cabs from self-representing glass artists. They are usually higher quality than the commercially manufactured supplies, and unlike them, are absolutely unique (this is me showing the middle finger wondering how to protect myself from plagiarism, which unfortunately happened just recently). I’ve recently purchased some beautiful pieces from other artists on Etsy. The pendants listed here are available in my Etsy …

Gothic necklace

I really wanted to use all these small beads that normally I don’t, instead of getting rid of them, but I didn’t want to make anything plain, but rather exciting. I came up with this. The necklace part is crocheted with wire and random selection of purple glass beads, and the central piece is wire wrapped, like all the rest of my pendants (just different shape). The clasp is in the front. Available on Etsy.

New steampunk pendants available

I’m a little bit fed up with all those heart pendants, although they are extremely popular. I decided to make some new pendants that are round, oval, square, anything but heart. These are four new ones, but there are also some older ones still available in the shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/ukapala?section_id=7177309&page=2

New earrings

I rarely make wire wrapped earrings, because my pendants are much more popular. Perhaps because the earrings are more demanding, as they’re generally expected to come in pairs and it’s difficult for me to repeat a pattern. They also have to be light and are generally more demanding, so whenever I make them, I try to keep them relatively simple. I myself, though, prefer to wear earrings every day. I’ve listed these two pairs just …
