Wrapped geode

Geodes are awesome. I love geodes. I sometimes spend literally hours online looking for the right ones or just watching the pretty geode photos. Geodes are crystal-lined cavities inside a rock. They are often formed when a bubble of air is trapped inside hot lava, then it cools down and forms quartz crystals inside around the bubble. Geode pendant

Finally I figured out what to do with the unusual geode halves. I didn’t know how to wrap them until I’ve got grey wire, which matches most of them perfectly. I really like how it came out. Not for sale, at least not until I make more of them (I have too keep this one in case I forget how to do the wrapping).

Wrapping irregular agate slabs

Wrapping these irregular slabs of agate proved to be more challenging than I had thought. First, some of them are drilled in stupid spots. Second, I can’t just wrap them around, like I do with sea glass, because I don’t want to obscure the beautiful banding and crystals on them.
