I rarely make steampunk sets, because it’s hard to get matching beads for earrings and a pendant, but this time I was lucky. And also – clockwork hearts again for all those of you who like heart-shaped jewellery :) Available on Etsy.
These delicate looking earrings most likely can be a great addition to most female steampunk outfits. Silver foil glass beads, amber brown with warmer brown/reddish stripes, wrapped in wire with dangling chain pieces and non-wrapped gears to emphasize the style. I used a lot of chain in these, but it was worth it and looks way better than a single piece of chain. Available on Etsy.
I usually get my supplies from glass bead mixes, so it’s hard to get matching beads for a set in most cases. There is a considerable demand for sets, though, so I decided to make some, and also ordered some beads that will match the beads that I already have. Until I get my order, I will use what I already have (not much, I’m afraid but will be enough for four or five more). …
It took me a good while before I figured out how to wrap these, but I’m happy with how they came out. They are quite rare, as there is only one piece like that per watch, and they vary in shape, size and texture between different watches. I manage to find similar ones from time to time, though. Available on Etsy.
The idea came from a typo, “i” is just next to an “u” on the keyboard. The typo brought ideas and many creative possibilities that made me giggle. Why take everything so serious, right? So I bought some pink wire and made this. I hope that the true steampunk fans won’t kill me for this. ;) Available on Etsy.
I like creative approach to traditional subjects. Cabochons in simple settings are nice and cute, but everybody and their sister has them. I glued the cameo onto the setting and then wrapped it with wire, watch parts and beads. I like the outcome. It definitely fits into the style. Available on Etsy.
I have been quite busy for the past few days (hence no updates), but I still managed to find some time to make some jewellery. I promised myself that I will use all the wire leftovers before I start another bigger project, so I made a few pairs of earrings. They are available in my Etsy shop in the “Steampunk” section.
Another heart. The idea was to make two contrasting halves, the droid one and the natural one, with an “organic” type of ornamentation (the spiral). I like the idea, I might use it more often. Available on Etsy.
Steampunk is all about technology, and I though why not mix in some nature inspired element? I was going to shape the beads into something more abstract, but it just didn’t look good, so I sticked with the twig-like shape. I used a round part of a watch movement. If you try to move the large gear on the side, the other two gears will rotate. Available on Etsy.
I ordered a bag of copper beads, that looked like mechanism parts on a photo. I wasn’t wrong, they really look like mechanism parts :) I wish I had bought some more, because I’m running out of them and this seller doesn’t have them anymore. In fact I couldn’t find anything similar on the whole Ebay. Actually these earrings were the first steampunk items that I’ve made. All copper, no brass. I wrap the elements …
