Another beautiful deep purple bead. At first I wanted to make this pendant symmetrical, but then I decided to add a non-symmetrical centre, because the one I was coming up with was boring. I used some opalite and black agate beads for decoration. Also, I’m really a fan of a chain, especially double chain dangling from anything wearable.

I haven’t posted anything seriously steampunkish in a while, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have anything to show. I have many steampunk pendants and I promise to list them in my shop quite soon.

This pendant’s base is a part of a vintage pocket watch. I used some gears and amber-yellow glass beads for decoration.

I’ve been wondering for a long time what to do with this bead. It’s plain, without any banding, just with two or three ridiculous yellowish spots on its sides. I decided to do a cage that conceals the spots, as I thought they were just pointless. I’ve just recently bought grey wire, which is called “smoke”, while the warm grey one that I’m using for steampunk is called “gunmetal”, which is somewhat confusing. Anyway, grey wire is perfect for goth stuff. Black is sometimes too dark and you can’t see the details in wrapping and I always have mixed feelings about using silver, so something in the middle is just lovely.

The wire that looks silver is actually light grey. You can see the difference between it and the silver plated chain on the bottom, it’s slightly darker. I thought that another shade of neutral wire will be nice and can give more possibilities.

The agate bead is dyed in purple, and has some interesting banding on both sides, so I made the pendant double sided. It looks quite unusual, even for my creations. It’s slightly gothic in character, though (the chain pieces do this).

Picasso jasper always surprises me with its variety of colours and patterns. This one looks like piece of a painting depicting a deep, dark forest. Again I had to use a type of wrapping that doesn’t obscure the stone.
