Well, they’re fairly irregular for teardrops and the third one is actually tooth shaped. Something I made in the meantime when I was bored with the usual stuff. I wish I had more side drilled agate in cooler shades (temperature-wise cooler, not awesomeness-wise cooler), but the batch I’ve got recently is mostly brownish red, sometimes orange or yellow, so I’m pretty much restricted to matching it with carnelian and other similar stones. It’s fun to make them every now and then, though

Two agate teardrops, available in my Etsy shop here and here

and one double sided amethyst tooth (available here) with quartz inclusions (or is it a quartz with amethyst inclusions? amethyst is technically a quartz anyway), which I called “Purple Winter” on deviantArt.

I’m trying my skill in hammering wire. It’s been going pretty well, considering I’ve started just yesterday. I just hope that my neighbours won’t kill me, because the process can be quite noisy and rather annoying. I’ve made several pairs of earrings and a couple of pendants so far, so have a look:

Copper kitty on a big onyx bead. (Available)

A rather huge agate slab pendant with some natural turquoise beads; the wire is just partially flattened here. (Available)

A pair of very simple hoop earrings with a lampwork bead (reserved).

Another pair of simple earrings, made with silver plated copper (which turned out just fine for flattening). (Available)

Wire wrapped and partially hammered earrings with turquoise and some copper findings (Available).

Geodes are awesome. I love geodes. I sometimes spend literally hours online looking for the right ones or just watching the pretty geode photos.

Geodes are crystal-lined cavities inside a rock. They are often formed when a bubble of air is trapped inside hot lava, then it cools down and forms quartz crystals inside around the bubble. The crystals can grow inside the rock for a very long time, so the geodes can be a few milimeters or several meters wide (or even bigger).

This geode piece is agate. Agate is basically a form of chalcedony, which is a type of quartz (silicone dioxide), but unlike regular quartz it has characteristic banding. I wasn’t able to show the true beauty of this stone on the photos, but I hope you like it anyway. The tiny red beads are coral, added to cheer the piece up a bit.

Available on Etsy.

It seems that over time I’ve gathered plenty of turquoise coloured beads. I doubt that many of them are the actual turquoise, mostly they’re just dyed howlite and magnesite, but still they’re pretty. I’ve decided to do something with them finally, so I took the teardrop-shaped ones and made some earrings.

Available on Etsy.

I’m particularly proud of this one, I think it’s the best of the series so far (there were four already, three gothic and one steampunk). The most time consuming piece I’ve made so far, took me over five hours to complete it. Lots of beautiful silver foil glass beads in it.

Available on Etsy.
