I’m back & new pendants

Well, my trip took longer than I had expected, for which I apologize, but now I’m back and have over 70 (!) new pendants, which I will be listing in my Etsy shop shortly. Here’s some gothic hearts for a start; they’re available in the gothic & fantasy section of my shop.

New handmade jewellery group

I’ve created a handmade jewellery community on Google+. There are several jewellery related communities already, but they frown upon posting links to people’s shops (apparently you’re only supposed to look at photos of jewellery and enjoy them). Feel free to join whether you’re a designer or just an enthusiast. Please read the rules first.

Various pendants

Some pendants I’ve made recently. I like to experiment a bit, so in these two I used Vintaj Patina to decorate the brass base and a dragon charm. Available in my Etsy shop: dragon pendant, green pendant One of my usual steampunk pendants. I have abandoned them a bit recently, although they are quite popular and I like making them. I must get back to making them more regularly. Available here. A heart pendant but different …

Earthy tones necklace

As usually, assembling the beaded part took me a lot more time than the wire wrapped part, because I kept stringing the beads and dismantling the whole thing all over again until for hours until it looked right. I used fused glass cab for a focal piece, coconut shell beads, lampwork beads, handmade recycled glass beads, some brass plated findings and faux suede cord. Available on Etsy.

Aqua blue and red pendant

I buy a lot of handmade glass, and this time I bought “seconds”, which means some of the cabs had melted together or were chipped or had some other “flaws”. This cab had a tiny red cab melted into it (as seen on the photo), which I loved immediately and decided to use as an advantage and a creative opportunity, as I had beads of the same colour and even the same kind of shiny finish. …

Ocean bracelet

I had wanted to make this for a long time and had the wire wrapped part pre-made, in my drawer. I just couldn’t find the right beads. While browsing Etsy I found African glass beads recycled from old bottles. They’re beautifully  irregular and come in variety of colours and shapes. I also used some artisan lampwork beads, a patina starfish charm and silver plated “bali” beads. Available in my Etsy shop.

Quartz pendants

One is a teardrop side-drilled bead and the other is a smooth chunk with no drilling. I used smaller beads (garnet, onyx, hematite and others) to decorate. These are mostly freeform, I can’t say what exactly inspired me, I just went on with the wrapping until I was out of wire. Available in my Etsy shop: [pink one] and [clear one].

Red heart batch

My most popular items are red hearts with black wire, for some reason, so I try to keep some of them in my shop all the time. This is the first 2013 batch. There’s still plenty of time to order before the Valentine’s day. Available in my Etsy shop.

Wire wrapped winter bracelet

I have to admit, the wire wrapping in this one took an awful lot of time. I used three dichroic glass cabs from For The People shop (purple and ice pink/white) and lampwork beads from Dancing Frog Jewelry. Purples, lilacs and whites. Enjoy. Bracelet available in my Etsy shop.
