The lovely red beads are pressed coral. I have no idea what the smaller ones are, there have been suggestions about jade, quartz, moonstone and citrine, though. Maybe calcite?
I’m quite happy with this set and I might use these or similar patterns more often. I like to think that it’s somewhat fantasy inspired, like my previous pendants.
I was asked to make matching earrings for this labradorite and garnet pendant:
I came up with this, although I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a similar design on the deviantArt somewhere:
I’ve made several pairs with different wire and bead combinations and then I got bored with the design. I’m not sure whether to list them online, right now I’m wearing one pair to see if they’re not too heavy.
I usually avoid this colour combination. It’s slightly too much cute overloaded. I would have used these beads for steampink, if I had thought of it before I made this set, but then I liked the wrapping and didn’t want to destroy it. Anyway, it looks unusual for a wirewrapped jewelley.
Available on Etsy as two separate listings: earrings and pendant.
I rarely make steampunk sets, because it’s hard to get matching beads for earrings and a pendant, but this time I was lucky. And also – clockwork hearts again for all those of you who like heart-shaped jewellery :)
The base of this pendant is the main part of a vintage pocket watch movement. I added sapphire/cobalt blue beads (lampwork and fire polished glass) and a lot of gears. I’m quite fond of this colour combination.
I kept the earrings simple, because the pendant is quite detailed and I did not want to split the focus.
