Heart in a golden cage

The first thing I did when I’ve got the beads yesterday was to photograph them. Then I picked one of them and made this. I don’t want the heart pendants I make to be “cute” (that’s why I avoid pink), but apparently they are considered so, and sell very quickly (I don’t manage to blog them soon enough, apparently). I like how the gold plated wire looks, but it’s very hard to work with it …

Hold Me Until

“Hold Me Until” is the first satisfying piece that I’ve made out of turquoise and brown lava. I’ve never had good ideas for names for the jewellery I make, but lately it has been better. They just appear in my head during the process of making and watching the wires and beads become a piece of jewellery. What inspired me here? The irregular shape of the turquoise bead. And the colours, of course. It would …

New batch of glass beads

I bought on Ebay some venetian glass mixes in colours suiting my steampunk creations and I wasn’t disappointed. Most of the beads will go with the style perfectly. I feel oficially inspired.

Moo cards

Just received them about an hour ago. Moo cards are perfect for designers, because you can put up to fifty designs on the back of them. Check out the moo website.

Copper steampunk earrings

I ordered a bag of copper beads, that looked like mechanism parts on a photo. I wasn’t wrong, they really look like mechanism parts :) I wish I had bought some more, because I’m running out of them and this seller doesn’t have them anymore. In fact I couldn’t find anything similar on the whole Ebay. Actually these earrings were the first steampunk items that I’ve made. All copper, no brass. I wrap the elements …

Heart of Lorkhan

I’ve been playing Morrowind a lot lately (again), whis is surprisingly inspiring for a video game, where usually most things are obvious and no place is left for doubt. The island on which the story is being played, has numerous ruins left from hundreds of years before by a race of inventors and scientists called the Dwemer (based vaguely on Assyrians). The whole race has vanished from the realm, and the reason why is the …

Pretty colours

Turquoise, brown lava and lime jade. This is one of the most perfect colour combinations that I know of. Wondering what to do with these, they don’t deserve to become just an ordinary bracelet or a necklace, they’re just too beautiful for that… Fortunately I’ve got quite a lot of these beads. A great addition to this set would be something in warm orange, but I don’t have anything at the moment.

Clockwork kittens

The very first thing that I thought when I saw the photo of the watch parts batch I ordered online, was “Cats! These look like sitting cats!”. So these kittens were the first items I made out of watch parts. They are smaller than they seem. Waiting for another batch of supplies and looking forward to a kitten wrapping spree. One of them is available on Etsy.

Clockwork fly

I really loved making this piece! It was supposed to be a beetle, actually, but it somehow turned into a fly during the process of making… It’s made mostly of craft wire and vintage watch parts. I decided to cheer it up a bit with tiny red seed beads and Czech fire polished glass beads. Available on Etsy.
